Interacting with Jobs < >

You can interact with the transmission at any time, using the following controls:

Stopping download

The stop option allows you to interrupt a job before the end of transmission. Thus, you can cancel a job waiting, to tell the system not to listen to the transmission. You can also interrupt a job running, in case this was not the content expected (see Jobs list overview for information about jobs statuses).
You can stop one or more job(s) in the same time. You can select several jobs in the list by dragging the mouse in the list, or holding Shift or Ctrl key pressed and clicking jobs in the list.
When you are done with the selection, you can stop selected job(s). There are two ways to do so: click the Stop button Stop on the window bottom frame, or click the right mouse button on the selected job(s) to display the context menu and click the Stop transfer item.

Clearing jobs list

Jobs done or jobs you have interrupted remain in the jobs list. You can remove these jobs from the list by clicking the Clear button Clear on the window bottom frame, or by clicking the right mouse button within the jobs table to display the context menu and clicking the Clear item.

Opening content folder

If a job is running or done, you can open the destination folder of the content within your computer environment. You cannot open a destination folder before a job has started. You can open the destination folder of one or more job(s) in the same time. You can select several jobs in the list by dragging the mouse in the list, or holding Shift or Ctrl key pressed and clicking jobs in the list.
When you are done with the selection, you can open the destination folder(s). There are three ways to do so: click the Open button Open on the window bottom frame, or click the right mouse button on the selected job(s) to display the context menu and click the Open folder item. Finally, you can double-click a single job in the table to open its destination folder.

Changing jobs properties

You can change jobs properties any moment before, during or after transmission by popping up the properties dialog. You can set properties for one or more job(s) in the same time. You can select several jobs in the list by dragging the mouse in the list, or holding Shift or Ctrl key pressed and clicking jobs in the list.
When you are done with the selection, you can pop up the properties dialog. There are three ways to do so: click the Properties button Properties on the window bottom frame, or click the right mouse button on the selected job(s) to display the context menu and click the Properties item. Finally, you can double-click a single job with the [Alt] key down, to pop up its properties dialog.

You can change the following properties within the properties dialog, for one or more job(s):

  • Auto update content
  • If available, this option allows to keep the job in the list after transmission, waiting for updates of the content.
This option is useful in the case of news content to keep you updated with the freshest news.
  • Auto uncompress content
  • If available, start uncompressing content automatically when download is complete.
  • Content auto repair via Internet
  • If content download is started too late, or if reception quality is average, it is possible that the content is not completely downloaded to the disk after the first transmission. In that case, the system will try and repair the content with SatKiosk upon next transmission, and upon the following transmission if needed...
With this option, you can set the system to repair the content via Internet after a specified number of attempt(s) with SatKiosk. Type in 0 (zero) to start repairing via Internet after first transmission. Type in 1 to try repairing with SatKiosk once (and start via Internet later if needed). Type in 2 to try repairing with SatKiosk twice (and start via Internet later if needed)...
This option is useful if you do not want to wait next transmission to have a complete content.
The Dial-up connection defined within the Connections settings is used for auto repairing via Internet.

Note 1: The properties dialog is popped up automatically on the first time a content is being downloaded (see Selecting content to download).

Note 2: The properties you set once for a job are stored and used for all following transmissions.

Note 3: The properties dialog helps you control the automatic behavior of a download. Nevertheless, it is possible to start uncompressing or repairing via Internet manually within the Files list.
