Setting the satellite adapter

The satellite adapter is used for any OPENSKY™ multimedia service via satellite. Select your satellite adapter from the list provided to ensure the best service reception.
If you do not know which is your satellite adapter, select "auto" from the top of the list. With "auto", your satellite adapter is being automatically detected when starting up OSListener (a component of the OPENSKY™ software starting upon system startup). This value is particularly suitable in the case of a dynamic IP address.
The default value for this option is "auto".

Note 1: If you have more than one satellite adapter on your computer, we recommend that you select the one desired from the list. Selecting "auto" in that case would be conflictual.

Note 2: In the case where the desired satellite adapter is not provided in the list, you may have to type in your adapter IP address.

Note 3: On some operating systems (e.g. Linux), it may be useful to select "none" to ensure that no satellite adapter is used.

Setting the default dial-up connection

The combo box provides the list of dial-up connections available on the operating system. Select from the list the dial-up connection you want to use for SatSurf.
Note that this dial-up is also used for other Internet connections of OPENSKY™, like SatKiosk content repairing via Internet (see Interacting with Jobs or Files list overview).

Specifying connect / disconnect commands

In the case where your system dial-up connections are not listed in the combo box as detailed above, you might want to use system commands to connect and disconnect to Internet. Type the complete path to your connection and disconnection commands in the text fields provided or browse to a command file with the browse button .

Note: This option is disabled if a default dial-up connection is selected from the combo box above.

Setting your login

You can specify your personal login for OPENSKY™. If you do not already have a login, see Using SatSurf.

Setting your password

You can specify your personal password for OPENSKY™. If you do not already have a password, see Using SatSurf.
If you specify your password, you will be able to login or logout to SatSurf without providing your login and password every time. Otherwise, you will have to provide your password every time you want to login or logout (see Remote Control to learn how to login and logout).

Using same settings for dial-up connection

Check this check box if you want to use the same login and password for your OPENSKY™ account and for the dial-up connection.
This option default value is unchecked.
